Nebraska’s passing performance against Iowa ( News Iowa )

Iowa
See some past Nebraska football coaches LINCOLN — Dirk Chatelain of the World-Herald presents his Huskers Report Card, evaluating Nebraska's performance in several areas. Here are the steps coming out of the Iowa game.Liquid offenseThe biggest issue for another impressive day? Nebraska was unable to generate a ground game.Anthony Grant's throwing attitude didn't work against Iowa's defense.A better option was Rahmir Johnson, who still committed a big turnover. The Huskers produced just 51 yards on 35 carries. So far, the necessary amendment is 2023.I hate itThis is for Mickey Joseph and Mark Whipple: When the defense can't cover Trey Palmer, the coaches attack Trey Palmer relentlessly. There is a certain type of football that defines the Big Ten.After several weeks of dramatic, time-consuming and physical play, another Friday awaits Nebraska. This interview is similar; You're going to see great lines, they run the ball and manage the clock and they have good defense!” Nebraska interim head coach Mickey Joseph said Tuesday. But Nebraska's next opponent takes this Big Ten blueprint to the extreme — Iowa's 7-4 record despite an offense that deserves a win or two more than a division-leading team.In fact, only one team in the entire country has gained fewer offensive yards than Iowa this season. Top Iowa tight end Sam LaPorta will not miss the Nebraska game ( News Iowa )

Iowa
Seven points, six, three and three. That's how close the last four Iowa-Nebraska football games have been. The Hawkeyes have won it all, but coach Kirk Ferentz knows every one has come down to the wire.“As usual, nothing is easy for us,” Ferentz said Tuesday in his weekly press conference previewing Black Friday's game against the Huskers. "This is kind of a way of life. So it's just in the end he will find a way to win. We expect this game to be real tough."Iowa will have to hit it without two top players.Tight end Sam LaPorta — who has 53 catches for 601 yards in 2022 — and Monte Pottebaum has ruled out being available to play against the Huskers. Iowa's offense, averaging just 17.5 points and 254…

Nebraska’s haunting past three seasons in the Big Ten West

Iowa
You're deep in football hell, Husker fans. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.Surely no fan base has experienced more than six seasons of misery. Of the 65 power-five programs, only Vanderbilt, Rutgers and Kansas have more losses since 2017 than Nebraska's 45. However, in the last six seasons, Nebraska is the only one not to qualify for a bowl game. The Huskers endured separate losing streaks of 10 games, four, seven and five. I have lost 21 straight in a number of opponents. And on and on...But for all the jaw-dropping, jaw-dropping, soul-crushing facts highlighting the recent Husker futility, I doubt anyone will take a very similar comment from Nebraska against the worst division in major-conference football - the Big Ten West.In their last 20 games against division competition, Nebraska is…

OU football: After hot start, strong defense, Quicker hangs on to beat Oklahoma State | Sports

Oklahoma
Even with a big early lead, Oklahoma was never able to deliver a knockout blow against their fiercest state rivals.Quicker scored five touchdowns on his first seven possessions of the game, but was held scoreless on the next 11 drives, allowing the Cowboys to slowly pull away in the late Bedlam on Saturday.QB Dillon Gabriel completed 14 of his first 18 passes for 224 yards in the first quarter alone. To this point, the Raiders were driven 10 yards per offensive snap, and also combined for a 10-yard run for 75 yards and a 28-0 lead. I never saw the offense the same after returning from the first half break. The hosts' four drives in the second quarter ended in two three-and-outs, a turnover on a fumble and an interception.Oklahoma…

Enterprise softball player Georgia Lessman signs with Iowa

Iowa
INITIATIVE - A former junior at Troy University who excelled as a speedster, Initiate head softball coach Kate Stump sees many similarities between her and the current Wildcats lead hitter, Georgia Lessman."I couldn't ask for a better leadoff hitter," Trunks said Tuesday, just minutes after Lessman signed to play college softball for Iowa. “He knows his role like he does a good job getting on base, but he also has the ability to score runs."He's really a ground threat. I know we talk a lot when hitters are used, but he can clap, bunt and throw. He's been super confident for three years."lessman has earned 136 hits over the last two seasons with a .471 batting average and has amassed 75 runs in 76 starts while scoring 106 runs, posting…
