A Biden administration employee — and one of the first non-binary federal officials — was charged with obstructing a passenger from an airport in September. Sam Brinton, deputy assistant secretary for food and waste disposal at the DOE's Office of Nuclear Energy, was charged with felony theft after allegedly stealing a Vera Bradley suitcase worth $2,325 from a baggage claim at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport on Sept. 16, according to court documents. Brinton, who uses those aliases, was caught on video surveillance taking the package and its owner's ID tag was captured, state filings show.
