Barbara John Higginbotham

ANDERSON [mdash] Barbara Jean Dunbar-Fritz-Higginbotham, 92, Anderson, died Nov. 19, 2022, at Anderson Community Hospital.
She was born in Sullivan, Indiana on March 11, 1833, to loving parents, the late Leslie and Mildred Dunbar.
Barbara Anderson was a High School graduate, Class of 1948. She then married her beloved husband, William Thomas Fritz of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, who is the father of six biological children.
Delco Remy has worked in quality control for many years. She enjoyed many things in life including fishing, water skiing, the outdoors, sewing, painting, making wonderful food, entertaining loved ones, sharing and playing with her pet owners, chicken feet, hiking the trails of State Park, and traveling. He was always on duty and vacationed in most of the fifty states including Hawaii, and traveled to Holland, England, and Africa.
She was very talented at decorating and had the most flowery beds.
In her younger years, she competed in beauty pageants, winning several titles. Marked by her beautiful red hair, the ability to communicate volumes with a mere glance and her impeccable timing of comedies, she knew he loved her and was such a blessing to those she loved.
He was a proud supporter of La Leche League. He moved to Washington DC in 1976 to support the rights of women and children, domestic goods, and was always dedicated to what America and its Constitution stood for.
Barbara had a magnetic personality, never met a guest, loved conversation and made real and meaningful connections with all the people she walked with.
Twenty-six years ago, after the events and losses of his life, he was brought back to his high school sweetheart, Forest Higginbotham, whom he married and with whom he enjoyed a wonderful love and was very active in many church ministries. She was so strong in her faith in Jesus Christ her Savior and her faith was the center of everything. She was truly one-of-a-kind and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Forest Higginbotham; children: Connie Barlow (Roger), Vicky Fritz, Timothy Scott Fritz, Amy Jo Ellis (Roy), Timothy Lee Higginbotham, Thomas Presnell Higginbotham (Debra), David Scott Higginbotham (Evelyn), Melissa Jane Constantinou (Kleanthis); grandchildren Heather, India, Israel, Natasha, Lydia, Seth, Henry Sun, William, Taylor, Macy, Timothy, Jeremy, Paul, Ruth, Todd, Mark, Andrew, John, Stephen, and Laura; 18 great-grandchildren; and brother Dan Dumbar (Mary).
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Barry Allen Fritz; Thomas, son of Gregory Fritz; grandson, Jeremy; and sister Anna.
With this Thanksgiving holiday weekend and loads of travel this season, a private celebration of life will be exposed and distributed in the future.
